This is a movie I make a point of trying to rewatch every year. Not only because it’s a personal favorite, but because it’s getting more and more relevant as time passes. We’ve avoided the Skynet Bad Future so far, but this one is still possible, if not probable.

28:05 yeah, youre kinda meant to. When youve both read the book and watched the movie you can tell Spielberg changed how Hammond was portrayed to make him more likable. in the books hes a total asshole, but in the movie hes meant to come off as the nice grandfather that you cant help but like. He might have been a bit naive about what he was doing with the park and recreating dinosaurs, but ultimately he just wanted to give the world something incredible to see and enjoy, not for greed, not for power, just something grand for the world. Too many reactors jump immediately onto the "hes the villain! screw him!" train without thinking when he really isnt the bad guy at all.

Fun Fact: When he was living in Pasadena, Robert Englunds roommate had a gig picking up painted leaves at various sites where Halloween was being filmed. The roommate asked Englund if he would like a couple of days' work. Englund said, "Sure!", and that's how we got two iconic baddies on the same set! The great John Williams composed what to me is the best movie sound track of all time. He has done many for Spielberg and others! He wrote his las movie score with the last Indiana Jones!

This movie killed Ouija as anything but an evil thing you must never touch. People burned their Ouija boards in communal bonfires, with local catholic priests is attendance for good measure. Overnight one of the most popular board games in the world was destroyed. Superstition is such silly thing, but when it's combined with fear... nothing can stand behind that blind force of willful stupidity.

Originally HYDRA was meant to be Marvels version of the Nazi Party, and Red Skull was supposed to be Marvels version of Hitler. But then the younger generation of writers realized that was fucking STUPID- so they decided that Hitler/Nazis SHOULD exist, and retconned Hydra to be a division of Nazis that went Rogue because they believed Hitlers “final solution” was too soft- that ALL of humanity needed to be “purified” not just ONE group of people. Basically they were too extreme, even for Hitler! 😂 The Nazis were the lesser of two evils…imagine that!🤣

This movie wrecks me every single time, even watching reactions. I fell apart watching it in theatres for the first time. Nothing can prepare you for the first time watching this masterpiece.

i think the reason you see a difference between kids and parents is back then they didn't have all the things like phones, computers internet and the kids played outside parents worked and went home. the time was just slower and better for the most part. if the family was stable then it was a good time. u still had bad kids bad parent's bullies at school. u just didn't have the social issues that plagues the world today. the people back then also didnt talk about the stuff todays people talk about or make into a big deal when its really isnt.

Terrified by a stinker, eh? Same. When I was 5, I was terrified to insomnia by the old Vincent Price classic "House on Haunted Hill"-the "heads" in the suitcase. Laughably fake, but not when I was 5. Vincent Price, as it turns out, is terrifying. RIP Price.

This movie was a new type in the 70s and caused many people to vomit and be hospitalized and truly frightened they had to leave the theatre.....we have to remember the viewers were not experienced with horror movies of this kind

Well, this sucks. I just found your channel and binge watched most of your movie reactions hoping you would be doing the rest of the MCU movies. I only stumbled on this channel recently. I really enjoy your react vids. You don't just relentlessly talk through movies, while also saying enough at the key points, and, you really 'watch' the films. So many reactors don't have that correct balance. They either just rattle on through the entire film and miss half of it or dont say enough to justify being a reactor. Maybe you could find a balance and keep up with game and movie reactions? It would prevent you burning out so quickly. Not everything has to be 'all or nothing'. I know this is easier said than done, but, its just a suggestion. I genuinely think you have something to offer in the movie reaction space. Video is permanent and even one movie a month or two would keep this space active. Its bad for the algorithm to not constantly upload, yes, but I and others will still find you eventually and not arrive at a now dead channel. I can't justify subscribing if there will be nothing here in the future.

That scene with the crucifix. 😰 I mentally shut down when i first saw that scene. So brutal and horrific. Can't imagine what it was like seeing this back in 1973. When audiences were far more innocent than they are now. Movies like this were not common at all.
